Refuge of the Road - HDR

This is a very powerful image, which struck me immediately while browsing the "newest photography" section with 120 thumbnails enabled, and I think this speaks for itself. What makes it so powerful is the intensity of the complementary colors yellow and blue, both amplified due to the contrast with black once on the road and once in the top part of the sky.

Although the colors are indeed special I think I have to deduct two stars in terms of originality because the scene is missing something that makes it stand out more from other road shots. A suggestion would be a lower position of the camera, close to the yellow road marks.

Technically I gave it only 2.5 stars because although composition-wise the road/sky ratio follows the golden mean and the road towards the horizon and the wires on the right add depth, in my opinion the image seems to lean a little to the right, which makes it look unbalanced. Moreover, the sky part is rather pixelated. Contrast and saturation, however, are excellent.

To sum up, I think that although the colors and composition are powerful enough to make the image stand out of the crowd it lacks a special detail that would make it unique and top-notch.
